Privacy at a glance
AltDat processes the files and instructions you send on our servers and returns the result to your workflow.
- Files: processing uses temporary storage. Keep your source files and results in your own storage. How file processing works.
- Service records: account, billing, usage and support information have separate retention needs. What we retain.
- Your choices: contact us to request access, correction or deletion of personal information. Your privacy rights.
Who we are
AltDat LLC, a Tennessee limited liability company, operates the AltDat website, API and account dashboard. This policy covers information used to provide those services. Our mailing address and support email are in Company & contact.
We are responsible for how we use account, billing, support and service-security information. When you send personal information through a workflow, your organization decides what to send and why. Where we act as a data processor, we process that customer content under your instructions and any applicable processing agreement.
Information we handle
- Account information: your email address, password in hashed form, account settings, API-key records and information used to verify your account, manage sign-ins and recover access.
- Customer content: files, worksheet contents, table values, transformation instructions, SQL queries and the results needed to carry out your requests.
- Billing and usage: your plan, subscription and payment records, credit balance and usage history. Stripe processes payments on its hosted pages; AltDat's application does not store full payment-card numbers.
- Service information: IP addresses, request identifiers, actions requested, response times, errors and security records. Aggregate action counts help us understand which features are used and how reliably they work.
- Communications: waitlist submissions, service emails and delivery records, and messages or attachments you send to support.
How we use information
We use information to carry out your requests, manage your account and subscription, recover access, measure usage, send service messages and answer support questions. Service records help us prevent abuse, investigate errors and plan capacity.
Where a legal basis is required, we rely on performance of our agreement for account and service delivery; legitimate interests for security, support and service reliability, subject to applicable rights; and legal obligations for required records and lawful requests. Where consent is required for optional communications or another activity, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.
We use uploaded table content to perform the operations you request. If you send a file or sample to support, we also use it to help with that request.
Your files and workflows
Files submitted through the API are used to carry out the operations you request. AltDat returns the results to your workflow and does not keep uploaded datasets as a file archive or backup service.
Processing uses memory and temporary files, which the application removes during request cleanup. Cleanup may continue after a response or disconnection, and processing interruptions can delay it.
Standard API request logs contain information such as the action, response status and duration; they do not include the uploaded table body. Files or samples you send to support form part of your support correspondence.
Your workflow may keep copies in Power Automate run history, OneDrive, SharePoint or another service. Those copies follow your settings and that provider's policies. An AltDat deletion request does not remove them.
Send only data you are authorized to process. For contractual, regulatory or regional hosting requirements, contact us before sending that data.
Providers and sharing
We use service providers to operate AltDat:
- Microsoft Azure: API computing, database hosting, operational monitoring, backups and transactional email delivery.
- Cloudflare: website hosting, delivery and related network/security services.
- Stripe: Checkout, subscription billing, payment processing and the billing portal.
- Microsoft 365: business email and support correspondence.
Providers receive information needed for their role. Some also process information under their own privacy notices and legal obligations, including for payment security and fraud prevention. The services you choose for your workflow are separate from this list.
We may also share information with professional advisers, respond to lawful requests, investigate abuse, protect rights and safety, or support a business transfer with applicable safeguards. We will ask separately where an additional use requires your consent.
Browser storage
AltDat uses browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your display preference and carry your plan selection through signup. Signing out removes the stored sign-in credentials. You can clear other stored values in your browser settings; this may reset preferences or interrupt signup.
Our hosting, security and payment providers may also process technical information or use browser storage when you use their services. Their privacy notices explain those practices.
The AltDat website has no advertising, analytics or other third-party tracking, and we do not track visitors across other websites or allow third parties to do so on our site. Browser Do Not Track signals therefore do not change how the site works.
Retention and deletion
Temporary processing files follow the cleanup process described above. We retain account, billing, usage, security, email and support records separately to operate the service, resolve issues and meet recordkeeping obligations.
The retention period depends on the type of record, whether your account is active, unresolved payments or support requests, security investigations and applicable legal requirements. Relevant records may also be retained where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Backup copies follow a separate rotation schedule and may remain after removal from the active system.
To request account closure or deletion, email support@altdat.com. We verify the request and explain any records that must be retained. Canceling a subscription or revoking an API key does not close the account or request deletion.
International processing
AltDat LLC is based in the United States. Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Using AltDat through Power Automate does not keep processing inside your Microsoft tenant or determine its location.
If your organization needs a data-processing agreement, regional hosting or other specific safeguards, email support@altdat.com before sending that data. We can confirm whether AltDat supports your requirements and which terms are needed. Required international-transfer arrangements must be in place before the relevant processing begins.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of personal information; restrict or object to processing; withdraw consent; or appeal a decision about a request. You may also complain to the relevant data-protection authority. These rights may be subject to exceptions.
Email support@altdat.com with your account email and what you need. We may ask for information to verify your identity or authority, and will respond within the period required by applicable law. Please leave passwords, API keys and identity documents out of the initial message.
If the information was uploaded by another organization, contact that organization first because it controls the source data and workflow. We assist our customers with relevant requests as required by the applicable agreement and law. You can also ask support to stop optional product-update emails; essential account or billing messages may still be necessary.
Security and eligibility
We use access controls, password hashing, encrypted network connections and operational safeguards to protect the service. No system can guarantee complete security. Keep credentials private, revoke keys you no longer need, and report suspected unauthorized access to support.
The service is intended for adults using data-processing tools. It is not directed to children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information so we can assess and address it.
Company & contact
We will identify updates with a revised date and provide additional notice of material changes when required. An updated notice does not authorize uses of existing information that require a separate legal basis or consent.
